Mack Croyle

Mack B. Croyle Jr., 92, of East Nassau passed away on Feb. 9, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Husband of Florentine E. (Bruitte) Croyle he was born in Pennsylvania to the late Mack and Jessie Croyle. Mack served during WWII in the United States Army and went one to work in the coal mines following his service. Mack then went to work for Sterling Winthrop as the Chief of the Fire Department until his retirement. Mr. Croyle was a life member of the Chandler-Young VFW Post 8162 in Nassau, Rensselaer County Fire Chiefs Association and the New Lebanon American Legion Post 762. Mack was also a member of the Tamarack Outdoorsmen and past Chief of the Tsatsawassa Protective Fire Company.

In additon to his loving wife he is survived by his sons, Mack F. (Debbie) Croyle and Kenneth E. (Mary Lou) Croyle Sr.; daughters, Loretta Mae Croyle and Shirley M. Croyle; brother James Croyle; sisters Honey Kruminker and Marlene Chapel, 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 24 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Barbara J. Lansing and 9 siblings. Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Saturday Feb. 20 at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Friday evening, Feb. 19 from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Interment will be in East Nassau Cemetery with a reception at the Tsatsawassa Fire Department to follow. In lieu of flowers donations in Mack's memory may be made to the Tsatsawassa Protective Fire Co. P.O. Box 62, Brainard NY 12024. Online condolences may be offered at Mooneyfuneralhome.com
