Obituary of Joyce A. Evans

Joyce A. Evans, 77, passed away on November 12, 2016 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born to the late Russell and Louise Hamilton she was a longtime resident of East Nassau. Joyce loved working in her flower garden, making flower arrangements and was handy at many different crafts. She enjoyed taking drives with her partner Roy, playing Yahtzee, organizing parties with her many friends and spending time with her grandchildren. Joyce was thrilled to have been able to spend the last three winters in South Carolina away from the cold weather. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Raymond Evans and her brothers Peter and George Hamilton. She is survived by her life partner Roy Herrick; son, Todd (Brenda) Evans; daughters, Wilma (Rick) Face, Nancy (John) Barth, and Linda (Greg) Reed; brothers, Frank, Roger, Roy and Richie Hamilton; sister, Adelaide Chartrand. Joyce is also survived by her grandchildren, Krystal, Matt and Courtney Evans, Kelsey and Taylor Face, Shawn and Trevor Barth, Andrew (Chelsea) and Gregory Reed. Funeral from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4-7pm.
