Margaret (DeLong) Dormady

Margaret (Peg) Dormady, 90, of Ludders Adult Country home in West Sand Lake, entered into eternal life on Saturday, March 4, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born March 1, 1927 in Slaterville Springs, NY to Grant and Ethel (Slaughter) DeLong, Peg graduated from Ithaca Public Schools and immediately embarked on a 38 year career with New York Telephone (Verizon). She was a people person who took every opportunity to start a conversation with everyone she met, even strangers. Peg was always kind and loving towards nature and animals, often feeding the wildlife and any stray animal that entered her backyard. She enjoyed needlework, camping trips with her family and long rides.

Peg was predeceased by her husband of 64 years Edward, as well as her five siblings, Grant, Dorothy, Joseph, Jean and Louella.
She is survived by her children, Charles (Anya) Of Knoxville, Tennessee, Timothy (Lorrie) of Nassau New York, and Evelyn (Marc) Clemente of Lincoln Park, New Jersey. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Brandi Kelly, Noah (Kelly), and Micah Dormady, two great grandchildren, Caleb and Violet Dormady as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Geneva New York and at the family plot in Ithaca New York at a later date at the discretion of the family.

Peg’s family would like to thank the Proprietor’s and staff at Ludders Adult Country Home as well as the Rensselaer County Community Hospice for their professionalism, caring and compassion at this difficult time.
