Rachel Hayes

Brunswick, NY – Rachel Lynn Hayes passed away suddenly on July 1, 2017 at home. Born in Albany on April 22, 1992, the daughter of William and Kathleen Hayes, she grew up in New Lebanon, NY. Rachel graduated from Russell Sage College and attended Hudson Valley Community College. She loved the beach, the mountains and her family.
Rachel leaves behind so many who love her. Along with her parents Rachel is survived by her beloved sister Kayla, her grandmothers Barbara McCann of Port St. Lucie, FL and Constance Hayes of New Hartford, NY, her aunts and uncles Arthur and Angela McCann of Apex, NC, Linda Kibby & Amy Young of Broadalbin, NY, Sandra Gramley of Colonie, NY, Dr. Eric and Anne Yoss of New Hartford, NY, and cousins David, Sarah and Philip Yoss, Andrew and Alexander McCann and Maya and Jordan Gramley. She was predeceased by her grandfathers Rev. William D. Hayes and Arthur McCann and her girlfriend Alexandra Wilkins.
Rachel had a big heart and loved animals, especially her kitties Stubby and Cortez. Donations in her memory can be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society at mohawkhumane.org. Calling hours are Saturday, July 8th from 11-1 with a celebration of Rachel's life beginning at 1:00 at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY.
