Obituary of Wayne H. Pettit

Wayne H. Pettit, 77, of North Greenbush, formerly of Green Island, Nassau and Port Richey FL, passed away on March 23, 2018 after a brief illness.  Born in Watervliet he was the son of the late Stanley and Norma Pettit and husband of the late Pauline Pettit.  Wayne enjoyed camping, NASCAR, golfing and was an avid NY Giants and NY Yankee fan.  Wayne volunteered his time coaching little league for many years.  Wayne was a lifelong area resident, working for CDTA for 39 years  before retiring to Florida in 2000.  He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all.  He is survived by his sons, Warren Pettit and William Pettit; daughters, Paula (Duane) Burtt, Pamela (Thomas) Corellis Jr. and Patrice Johnson; brothers William and Wendell Pettit; sister, Wanda Capone; daughter in law Rebecca Pettit.  He is also survived by four grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his son Wayne Pettit.  The family would like to thank the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor for their kind care and compassion.  Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home on Monday at 12:00pm.  Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10am to 12pm.  Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau.  Online condolences may be offered at Mooneyfuneralhome.com
