Anthony Laier

Anthony A. "Tony" Laier, 76, of East Nassau passed away on Feb. 3, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. Tony was born in East Nassau to the late Julis and Carrie Laier and was a lifelong resident. He was employed by Albany Steel as a rebar bender for 30 years before his retirement. Mr. Laier was involved in his community as a past president of the Tsatsawassa Protective Fire Co. and a social member of the Hoags Corners Ambulance. Tony was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed tinkering with his model trains and spending time gardening. He is survived by his loving wife Laurie Laier; sister, Eleanor (William) Lansley and his sister in law, Jean Laier. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Frederick, William and Arthur and his sisters, Bertha Barth and Elaine Bingham. Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Monday at 12:00 noon. Relatives and friends are invited to call prior to the service from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Interment to follow in the East Nassau Cemetery.
