Arthur Macheski

Arthur Macheski, 60, of East Nassau passed away peacefully at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany on October 24, 2016. Art joined the United States Marine Corps after attending high school in Brooklyn, New York, and served proudly for twenty one years. After retirement, he settled in East Nassau, where he was living at the time of his death. He loved to hunt and especially enjoyed game safaris in Africa and trips to Canada for caribou, bear and moose. He is survived by many close friends and family including his sisters Sylvia and Cecilia, his cousin David Beers, his lifelong friends Thomas Bigelow and Mark Laskowski and his close companion Debra Doody. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Parish Hall located directly behind St. Mary's Church in Nassau on Friday Oct. 28 at 11:00am. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery following the Mass at 1:30pm. Art loved dogs, and his family and friends request that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Rebuilding Warriors C/O Jeffrey Mullins 23 Williams St. Fords, N.J. 08863.
