Old Chatham- Barbara A. (Ozga) Motyl-Folmsbee, 59, of Old Chatham, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments.
Born in Hudson, Barbara was the daughter of the late Rose M. Blass and Walter L. Ozga, Sr. She spent her early years in the Village of Nassau on Elm Street, where she built the foundation of a life filled with love, strength, and dedication to others.
Thirteen years ago, Barbara met the love of her life, Timothy J. Folmsbee. The couple were married on August 25, 2021, and shared a deep and enduring bond.
Barbara was a devoted employee of the United States Postal Service in East Greenbush, where she served as a postal clerk, under Postmaster Colleen Conway who was a dear friend. She also found joy working part-time at Village Pizza with her dear friends Marsha and Jim Winters. Barbara's passion for racing, especially at Lebanon Valley Speedway, was a central part of her life, and she cherished traveling to races whenever possible. She especially loved trips to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Charlotte, North Carolina - destinations that brought her both excitement and peace.
She found happiness in life's simple pleasures - baking, crafting, and most of all, spending time with her beloved family. A dedicated supporter of her great nieces' and nephews' sporting events, she rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. Barbara was also a proud former member of the Nassau Hose Co. #1, as well as serving as an EMT for the Nassau Fire Department Rescue Squad.
She was predeceased by her parents and leaves behind many who will forever cherish her memory: her loving husband, Timothy J. Folmsbee; her son, Zachary Motyl; and her adored granddaughter, Caydence Motyl. She is also survived by her siblings, Walter L. (Valerie) Ozga, Jr., Linda (Gary) Wemple, and Deborah (Terry) McGrath; and her brother-in-law, Patrick (Cindy) Folmsbee.
Barbara considered her nieces and nephews her own children, Heather (Casey) Wemple-Kelly, Elizabeth (Christopher) Link, Christine (Josh Ordway) Wemple, Terry (Susan) McGrath, Cody Ozga, Dustin Folmsbee, Joslyn Folmsbee, Colton Folmsbee, and Harper Folmsbee. She also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff, nurses, and doctors at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital for their compassionate and dedicated care throughout Barbara's journey.
