Beverly Ann Lucas

North Chatham- Beverly Ann (Groves) Lucas, age 81, passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on Friday, 10/06/2023. A resident of North Chatham for 61 years, she was born in South Schodack to the late Howard L. and Eleanor (Dusenbery) Groves. Beverly worked as a NYS Licensed Veterinary Technician at Drumm Veterinary Hospital, and then as an administrative assistant at the NYS Association of Fire Chiefs. She worked for a short time at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center and was a medical transcriptionist at Albany Medical Center for 20 years before retiring. One of Bev’s greatest joys in life was cooking for family and friends. Her greatest memories were made around the dinner table. She loved plants, flowers, animals and a few people.

She was predeceased by her parents, her two husbands; Nicholas Staltari (deceased 1982), John “Jack” Lucas (deceased 2005), and her fiancé; Richard “Dick” Burgess (deceased 2019). She is survived by her son; Frank (Sharon) Staltari, her grandson; Patrick (Shelly) Staltari, her twin sister; Donna “Twin 1” (late Del) Furman, her brother; Ron (Susan) Groves, her stepdaughter; Lisa Lucas, her best friend of over 40 years; Linda Turner and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Beverly’s family on Friday, 10/13/2023, from 4:00-7:00 pm, at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY 12123. Beverly’s funeral service will take place on Saturday, 10/14/2023, at 10:00 am, at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service, in North Chatham Cemetery, Route 32, North Chatham, NY 12132.
