Carrie Maccue

Carrie Maccue, 41, of East Schodack passed away suddenly from a brief battle with cancer on May 31, 2024, at Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA.  Born in Albany, she was the beloved daughter of Robert and Kathleen (Rifenberick) Maccue and the loving wife of Jeffrey Pearce.  Carrie was a graduate of Averill Park High School and continued her studies at SUNY Empire College, where she earned her bachelor's degree.  Carrie was employed by the SUNY Research Foundation as a Grants Administrator, at the time of her passing.  

Carrie was a selfless individual who volunteered countless hours to her children’s endeavors and would work to coordinate all aspects of their sporting events.  She loved animals, especially her dog Griff and would spend time volunteering her time at PetSmart.  Above all else, she was a loving daughter, wife, and mother.  Carrie cherished her time spent with family, especially on her summer vacations to Newport, RI and Outer Banks, NC.

In addition to her loving parents and husband she is survived by her cherished sons, Eli and Jack Pearce; maternal grandmother, Jacqualine Rifenberick and paternal grandmother, Ann Maccue; mother-in-law, Karen Pearce, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Charlie Rifenberick and paternal grandfather, Harold Maccue.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Carrie’s sisters-in-law, Dana Wiwczar and Dawn Pearce for their care and compassion during her brief illness.  As well as, to her baseball family for their love and support.  

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Carrie’s family on Tuesday, June 4 from 4-7 p.m. at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau.
