Clayton (Clayt) A. Heeder Sr., 83, of Nassau passed away December 25, 2011 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Otto W. and Elsie (Dayton) Heeder. Coming from Groton CT, Clayton had lived in Nassau for 41 years. He had 25 active years in the U.S. Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. After his navy career he went to work for the East Greenbush Central School District as a bus driver and retired after fifteen years. He went on to work for another ten years as a carrier for Met Path. Clayton was a member of the Chandler-Young VFW Post #8162, East Greenbush American Legion Post #1231, and the Rensselaer B.P.O. Elks Lodge#2073. In addition to his parents Chief Heeder was predeceased by his; step-mother, Violet (Kelsey) Heeder, wife, Jean (Geurtze) Heeder, and a son William B. Heeder. He is survived by his; son, Clayton A. Heeder, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Hamlin NY; daughters, Cathy Jo McKissick (William) of Castleton NY and Cindy Jean Heeder of East Greenbush N.Y. and her good friend Chris CArgain; brother, Glenn I. Heeder (Mary) of Melrose FL. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. There will be no serivices at this time.
