David John Coddington May 6, 1968 – February 11, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David John Coddington, affectionately known as Dave, who passed away on February 11, 2025, at his home in Colorado. He was 56 years old. Dave was a warm, adventurous, and fun-loving man with a zest for life. His passion for cars, speed, and the great outdoors was evident in his love for driving fast, riding four-wheelers and snowmobiles, and watching football and motorsports. Above all, he cherished the time spent with family and friends, always making an effort to stay connected despite his busy life.
David is survived by his devoted mother, Kathy (White) Coddington of Rensselaer, NY; his father, Clifford (Chrislyn) Coddington of Glastonbury, CT; his son, David Coddington II of Rensselaer, NY; and his best friend, Tom Collins of Albany, NY. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly .David was preceded in death by his former wife, Christina (Yanus) Douty, and his beloved Uncle Dennis Lynch and Aunt Carolyn (White) Lynch, with whom he had a special bond from childhood.
Born in Albany, NY, David grew up in Nassau and East Greenbush, NY. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1986, after which he proudly served in the United States Navy as an electronics technician, receiving an honorable discharge in 1989. Following his military service, he returned to East Greenbush and eventually married Christina, with whom he had his son, David II. In recent years, David’s work took him on travels across the southern and western United States, and he often shared pictures of the places he visited with his loved ones. David will be cremated, and his ashes will be inurned at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the Spring of 2025. Further details regarding a memorial service will be shared at a later date. Dave’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
