David Hammersmith

David F. Hammersmith, 70, of Nassau passed away on May 6, 2015 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Cherry Plain he was the son of the late Joseph and Alfreda (Gagnon) Hammersmith. As a former mechanic for McClintock Chevrolet he loved to tinker and get his hands dirty. David had an enormous passion for motorcycles, loved to fish and have family Barbeques. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. David was predeceased by his son, David Hammersmith, brothers, William and John Hammersmith, sisters, Alfreda "Bub" Gardner, Mary Scouler, and Theresa Williamson. He is survived by his loving wife, Della Hammersmith, daughter, Robin (Justin Cameron) Hammersmith, stepsons, Norman and Jason Catman, brother, Joseph Hammersmith, grandchildren, Wyatt and Jesse Cameron. Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Saturday, May 9 at 7:00 P.M.
