Dian (Hart) Swierzowski, 58, of Albany formerly of Nassau died after a struggle with breast cancer April 10,2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Dian was born in Albany the daughter of the late Courtland and Perpetua Hart. Dian had a career in the N.Y.S. Legislature which she willingly gave up to stay at home and raise her family. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Most recently she worked for Albany High School as a teachers assistant, was loved by her students and was very passionate about them. Dian attended all of her children's soccer games and other activities. She tried not to miss a single event. Besides her true passion, her children, she loved knitting, reading, and was an accomplished seamstress and felter. Dian maintained her sense of humor and good spirits throughout her struggle.

Dian is survived by her; loving husband Louis Swierzowski; sons, Joseph (23) and Peter (19) Swierzowski; daughter, Julia Swierzowski (21); brothers, Alan (Dianne) Hart, Ian Hart, Kevin (JoAnn) Hart, Brian (Susan) Hart, Colin (Lisa) Hart; sister, Jo Ann Hart; sister in law, Ann (Alex) Barr of Medway MA and Carol (Ray) Victor of Windmere FL. Dian is also survived by her beloved in-laws, Edmond and Catherine Swierzowski of Tribes Hill NY as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Rufus Collea of NYOH and his wonderful staff for their care and compassion during this difficult time and to the Community Hospice of Albany County for their help during Dian's struggle.

A Memorial Mass will be held at the Cathedral of the Immacualte Conception in Albany on April 30th at 11:00 am.
