Doris Young

Doris H. Young, 87, of Watervliet, formerly of Nassau, died June 25, 2011 at her home. Doris was born in Albany and had lived in Nassau all her life before moving to Watervliet two years ago. Doris was a former bookkeeper for Montgomery Wards, Sullivan Oil Company, B.H. Delson Dept Store and Russ Freeman Excavating Co. She was a former member of The Chandler Young VFW Post 8162 ladies auxiliary. Doris was predeceased by her husband, Howard G. Young, her son-in-law Russ Freeman, a sister Jessie Henry Price Keneston and great-grandaughter Elizabeth Freeman. Survivors include a son, William J. (Colleen) Young of Defreestville and daughters Dale (Edward) Kehoe of Watervliet, Diana (Lloyd) Yates of Valatie and Donna Freeman of Valatie, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral from The Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm Street, Nassau Wednesday morning at 10:00. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5-7.
