Earl L. Hoffman Jr., 78, formerly of Nassau, passed away February 4, 2013 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Earl Sr. and Marion (Smith) Hoffman. Earl was a United States Army Veteran who had served his country overseas in Germany. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Earl was very involved in his nieces and nephews lives and followed their sporting events very closely. Mr. Hoffman played in the Capital District Senior Softball League. Earl's greatest passion was his family and loved spending time with them during the holidays.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina Mraz, brothers, Fred, Raymond and Walter Hoffman, grandsons Jason and Ryan, his nieces and nephews in the; Hoffman, Bohley, Novak and Kubler families, good friends, Charlie and Dennis Gardner. He was predeceased by his brothers, William and Dave and his sister Marion Novak. Earl was loved by many and will be missed by all. A graveside service will be held on Thursday Febraury 7th, 2:00 pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Those wishing to join the procession to the cemetery may meet at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Thursday at 12:15 pm. There will be no calling hours.
