Lundstrom, Edward W. -East Nassau
Edward Lundstrom, “Lumpy”, 75, peacefully passed away in his sleep at home with his companion Libby of 19 years by his side. Edward was predeceased by his mother and father Jenny and James Lundstrom; son, Brendon; sister, Dawn and nephew Brian.
Ed is survived by his estranged son Andre; brother, James; sister, Gail and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves a cousin, Leigh Smith from Florida, whom he was very fond of and his longtime friend H.A. Cannabush, they were Harley riders for many years.
Almost every morning he would call his special “buddy” Lesley. They would talk about the news and several other topics. His most cherished treasure was his big German Shephard, Axel. Ed was a father figure to Jody and Justin and Grampy “O.T.” to several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had many other friends he was very close to.
For over 40 years he traveled to California and back and visited many countries as well. When he finally came back to New York about 20 years ago he settled for the quiet life. Some of his vacations were by the ocean and others were camping in the woods. His other passion was spending time in New York City where he lived for many years. He always needed his N.Y.C. fix. The last few years of his life he spent mostly at home due to failing health. He loved sitting on the deck and watching the deer come into the yard and settle down by the pond. There was so much wildlife that came to visit and that was something that he really enjoyed.
His final request was to have no services and to be cremated so he could stay on his little slice of heaven.
Donations in his memory may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
