Fred W. Coy, 64, of Troy formerly of Nassau died Wednesday July 31, 2013 at his home. Born in Albany Fred was the son of the late Frederick and Marian (Hooper) Coy. Fred retired as an Albany Police Department officer after twenty years of service and went on to work for Prestige Delivery Systems. Fred's main passion was his love for motorcycles, he was a member of the Renegade Pigs Motorcycle Club, former Road Captain and former President of the Troy chapter. He was involved with many charities and helped his community through the Renegade Pigs. He loved fast bikes and cars and was an avid hunter.
Fred was predeceased by his former wife Frances J. Coy. He is survived by his wife Michele Coy, son, Matthew Coy, daughters Kerri J. Coy, Dena M. (Jeffrey A.) Wheeler, step-daughter Lauren B. (Brett) Slater, brother, William K. Hooper, and his granddaughter Allison Slater. He is also survived by his lifelong friend Michael Day.
Memorial service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Monday Aug. 5, at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Sunday Aug. 4th from 3:00 to 7:00pm. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau. In lieu of flowers donations in Fred's memory may be made to the Northeast Kidney Foundation 501 New Karner Road, Suite 6 Albany, NY 12205.
