October 26, 1923 — April 7, 2013

G. Vivian Hyland, (G. for Genevieve) passed away peacefully at home Sunday morning April 7, 2013. Wife, mother, Nana, and beloved Aunt Vivy, she was an entrepreneur (Elm Tree Card Shop), executive secretary, and friend. Born during the roaring 20's in New York City, she came of age in the Great Depression. Married during WWll, she and Jim raised their family through the 1950's and 60's in Nassau, NY. She loved watching sunsets and birds at her Nassau Lake home and she loved parties and poetry.



Vivian is predeceased by her husband James F. Hyland, beloved granddaughter Kristina Hyland, parents James and Gertrude Anna Bolster and by most of her 13 brothers and sisters. Vivian is survived by her children Lynn M. Hyland, Janis Hyland (Will Astor), Ted Hyland (Kimberly Hyland), grandson Tyler Hyland and his mom Suzanne Spenziero Hyland, sister Rev. Elizabeth Bolster Little of NYC, brother Robert Bolster Allenbrandt of Oregon, nieces, nephews, cousins and many other devoted relatives and friends.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday April 20, 10:00am at St. Mary's Church, 26 Church St. Nassau. After mass please join the family to share memories and for refreshments at the Chandler-Young Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8162 Lyon's Lake Road, Nassau until 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Friday April 19th from 4:00-7:00PM. Vivian will be interred, April 22, at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery-Jim and Vivian, Sweethearts reunited.
