Nassau- George N. Blair, Sr., 82, of Nassau passed away at home on Sunday, June 30, 2024. Born in Albany, to the late Clarissa (Foster) and Andrew A. Blair, he was the youngest of 13 children. George had been a resident of Nassau since 1975. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968. George worked for Laborer Union #190 of Glenmont and retired in 1997. He was an avid Nascar fan and spent almost every Saturday at Lebanon Valley Speedway alongside his friend, Mike Thoma. George was a life member of the Chandler Young VFW Post #8162 of Nassau.
George was predeceased by his wife, Joyce (Krol) Blair. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Rebecca D. Corbett, and by 11 of his siblings. George is survived by his children, George N. Blair, Jr., Darren D. (Pam) Blair, and Richard J. (Cheryl) Blair. He was the grandfather of Jacob, Jonathan, Briana, Kayla, and Alicia, as well as the great-grandfather of Callie. George is also survived by his sister, Jane (Bill) Bemiss.
Interment will be held on Monday, July 8, at 11:00 a.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville, NY. Please arrive at the cemetery at 10:45 to join in the procession. To leave an online condolence, please visit mooneyfuneralhome.com
