Born in Albany, he resided most of his life in East Schodack and Castleton.

He served in the Armed Forces in Vietnam in 1966 as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic. He was honorably discharged from service in 1968 with a National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Vietnam Service Medal.

After his discharge, he worked in the Construction Industry as a Truck Driver, Carpenter, and installer of overhead doors. He retired many years after working for "HVR" Henry V. Rector Construction in Rensselaer.

He could be seen for many years on the sidelines watching his great-nephew (Dennon) play football and lacrosse. Most recently, he loved spending Sundays as part of the "Old Guys Crew" (Walt Killough & Barry Poppey) at his nephew John's place, where they would watch sports and have dinner. He was also an excellent cook and loved spoiling other people's animals.

He is predeceased by his parents Grace and George Field, Sr., his older brother John "Jack" and

Jack's wife Patricia Fisher, his sister Nancy Killough, and Barry Poppey.

He is survived by his brothers Joe (Trish) Field, Curtis (Melissa) Field, and sister Cindy (John) Argust, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
