James William Buel was born on October 2, 1983, and died unexpectedly on December 27, 2024. He was the beloved son of Shirley and James Joseph Buel, brother of Cheryl Buel Clark(Jeffrey) and uncle of Sophia Clark. He was predeceased by his father and maternal and paternal grandparents. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jim graduated from Columbia High School, briefly attended college and then began his working career at Broadview (SEFCU) in 2004. Over the years he held various positions, including Service Professional, Assistant Branch Manager, and Relationship Banker.
Jim loved his family, friends and pets - Samantha, Louie and Caspar. He was a lifetime fan of the NY Mets, NY Giants and the NY Rangers. He also loved music of many genres including the Tedeschi Trucks Band. Jim loved learning about his Irish heritage, especially after a trip to Ireland and the British Isles. He was a kind and generous person who struggled with several chronic health conditions from childhood.
Calling hours will be at Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home in Nassau, NY on Monday, January 6 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A private funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
Jim would want us to remember him with laughter and honor him by showing kindness in the world.
