Janet F. Truss, 87, of East Schodack passed away May 20, 2012 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born to Nicholas and Estella (Barnes) Tremont she was the wife of the late Christy Truss. Janet graduated from Columbia High School in 1942 as the first class to graduate from the "new Columbia High" now Genet Elementary School. Janet was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in East Schodack for many years. In her later years she enjoyed her Yankee Trails trips from the Edward Swartz Senior Service Center in Schodack.

Janet is survived by her son, James W. (Mary) Truss of East Schodack as well as three grandchildren, Jimmy, Christina, and Michaela.

Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home 11 Elm St. Nassau, Friday May 25 at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Thursday May 24 from 5:00 to 7:00pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, East Schodack. In lieu of flowers donations in Janet's memory may be made to the Edward Swartz Senior Service Center, 1800 East Schodack Road Castleton NY 12033, or to the East Schodack Fire Company, 3071 New York Rt. 150, East Schodack NY 12063.
