Winifred Jeane Sanford

Jeane W. Sanford, 96 of Nassau passed away at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing home on December, 8, 2021. Born in Bainbridge, NY to the late Maurice and Marie Gardner, she was predeceased by her husband, Herbert W. Sanford. Together, they were the co¬- owners of a dairy farm, where they enjoyed their time together. During WWII, Jeane worked at Hyucks Mill in Rensselaer as part of the war effort. Jeane was loved by all and enjoyed her family, traveling, refinishing furniture and caning chairs. She was a Cub Scout Den mother, Deputy Town Clerk for the town of Nassau, a member of Eastern Star, and a volunteer for the STAR Reading Program at DPS Elementary school.

Jeane is survived by her children, Thomas E., Paul H., Richard G., Shirley J., Kenneth A. Sanford, Phyllis Sanford-Krug and Nathan L. Sanford. She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday and will be private. The family would like to give special thanks to Betty Roberts of Nassau, and the Van Rensselaer Nursing facility for their exceptional care.
