Jeannette Charland, 81, of Nassau passed away on January 29, 2016 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Cohoes she was the daughter of the late William and Edna (Fortin) Charland. A resident of Nassau since 1950 Edna was very involved in St. Mary's Church. She was a member of the former Rosary Altar Society as well as the church council. Jeannette's life was the church and when she found time while not helping at St. Mary's she enjoyed knitting, gardening, traveling and most of all spending time with her grand nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her fiancé John Spolarich. She is survived by her brother Marcel (Judy) Charland of Ft. Meyers FL; sister, Marie (Robert) Phoenix of Pittstown; nephews Daniel Charland, Mark (Natalie) Phoenix and Paul Phoenix; nieces, Marianne (Mark) Hall and Kristy (Steve) Fry; grand-nephews and nieces, Kevin and Kendra Phoenix, Trevar and Justin Hall, and Miranda Phoenix. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday Feb. 1, 3:00pm at St. Mary's Church in Nassau. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Sunday January 31, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Nassau.
