Jennie Ozga

Jennie M. Ozga, 88 of Nassau passed away on September 23, 2014 at Albany Medical Center after a long battle with blood clots. She fought hard for the last two years. Born in Hudson N.Y. she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Madison) Myers and wife of the late John Ozga. Jennie was a hard worker who would tell stories of waking up at 4:30am to milk the cows on the family farm. She was a strong woman who loved her family and was always willing to cook for anyone who came by the house. She was especially known for making turtle soup. She loved flowers and at one point had a very large garden of gladiolus. She also enjoyed telling the family about past times with her in-laws, Lawrence and Victoria Ozga, and how they all worked the farm.

She is survived by her son Michael E. Ozga, grandchildren, Michael E. (Jenny) Ozga Jr. and Brenda (Bob) Film, great grandchildren, Jonathan, Clair and Christopher Ozga. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters and her daughter in law Linda Ozga.

Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Saturday September 27th at 9:15am thence to St. Mary's Church in Nassau where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday Sept. 26 from 4-7pm. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau.
