John W. Denton, 79, of Bennington VT, formerly of Albany and Nassau NY, passed away May 13, 2012 at the Vermont Veterans Home. Born in Hudson Falls NY to the late Phillip and Leona (Potter) Denton he was a Korean War Veteran who served in both the United States Army and the Air Force. John worked as a night supervisor at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. Mr. Denton belonged to the DAV and was an honorary member of the Melvin Roads American Legion Post 1231 in East Greenbush.
John is survived by his loving wife Carol J. Denton, son, Michael Denton of Latham, daughters, Regina Dumouchel of Clifton Park, and Doreen Houser of Nassau, five step children, brother, William Denton of Glens Falls NY, sisters, Helen Wemmet of Cambridge NY, Kay Diamond of Glens Falls NY, Margaret Madison of Syracuse NY, Lilly LaPlante of FL, and Jesse Denton of South Glens Falls NY. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren. John is predeceased by his brothers, Edward, David,and Cecile, sisters, Janet, and Gerry. He is also predeceased by his son John Denton.
Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, Thursday May 17, 2012 at 12:00noon. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 10-12. Interment in Nassau Cemetery.
