Joseph F. Rings, 67, of Nassau passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on October 1, 2022. Born in Albany to the late Joseph E. Rings Jr. and Irene (Murray) he was a lifelong resident of Nassau. Joe was a special man; he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was a loving, kind and devoted husband, father and Papa. His family and friends meant the world to him and he always cherished the time he spent with them. Joe loved being outdoors, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and even cutting firewood. He belonged to several clubs including the Nassau Sportsmen’s Club, the Tri-City Woodsmen, and the Tri-village Bowhunters Club just to name a few. Joe golfed every Monday night in the summer in a league “The Mulligans” at Burden Lake Country Club. He was known to always be busy building something whether it be fixing things at the lake, helping to build his families homes, or working on small projects for his own home. As he would frequently say he liked to “putter” around his home. Joe looked forward to the spring time and getting the gardens prepped for the many vegetables they grew. He was a huge Yankee and Dallas Cowboys fan and would not miss a game if he could help it. He would whip up a crockpot meal for Sunday football games with the “Cable Table Crew”. This tradition will continue to live on and remember to save him a seat. Joe will always hold a special place in everyone's lives that he touched. He was an amazing individual who was selfless, generous and kind hearted, he will be missed by so many.
He is survived by his wife Cindi Rings, daughter, Kara (Kevin) Pearson: son, Jason (Jennifer) Church; brothers, Robert J. (Sandy) Rings and Barry J. Rings; sister, Carol Ann Pearson; grandchildren, Kylee Church, Betsy and Aiden Pearson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother William M. Rings. All are invited to attend a service at Lyons Lake Restaurant at 307 Lyons Lake Rd. Nassau, on the beach on Saturday October 8 at 11:00 am. Immediately following the service there will be a Celebration of Life gathering at the Chandler Young Veterans Association, 7 Lyons Lake Rd, Nassau.
