Josephine Newman

Josephine Mae Newman of Nassau, NY went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2016. Josephine lived 91 years filled with love for her 15 siblings, 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was soft spoken with a fun sense of humor. Josephine spent her life caring for her own family while also raising foster children; always caring for those in need. She made us laugh with her monkey faces and reminded us of God's presence by always saying "Jesus is watching".

She will be greatly missed by her sons Robert Newman, Joseph Newman and daughter Justina White. Grandmother of Justina Hill, Michael Trop, John Trop, Wendy Slauson, Tara Slauson, Tim Barnes, Tasha Barnes and Joseph Newman. Great grandmother of Michael Hill, Kailah Hill, Justin Hill, Joshua Trop, Harmony Trop, Jalynn Caldara, Jordyn Caldara, and Alexander Trop. Funeral service will be held at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St, Nassau, NY 12123 on Saturday May, 21 at 11:00am. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8pm, all are welcome to attend.
