Kenneth J. Villeneuve Sr
NASSAU - Kenneth J. Villeneuve Sr., 80, of Nassau, NY, died suddenly Jan. 12 at St. Peter's Hospital.
Ken was born in Albany, son of the late Lester and Ethel Villeneuve. He was predeceased by several siblings. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jacqueline Malo Villeneuve. He was an Air Force veteran.
Ken was employed by Conrail for 20 years, retiring in 1988.
Ken and Jackie thoroughly enjoyed their retirement years, traveling throughout the country. He enjoyed camping, especially down on the Jersey shore for many years. He also enjoyed going up to the Adirondacks to his son's cabin, where there were many nights sitting around the campfire while playing his harmonicas and having a few beers. He enjoyed going to casinos, always looking for the big win. He was always looking for something to do, not wanting to sit still for very long. He and Jackie took long rides throughout the countryside, taking back roads wherever they may lead.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Kenneth J. Villeneuve Jr. and his wife, Susan B. Chasney of Nassau; Michael and his wife Patricia Villeneuve of Nassau; a daughter, Donna L. and her husband RonnieLaBounty of Crown Point; six grandchildren, Deborah Burris, Marybeth Greene, Cassie Villeneuve and Abby Villeneuve; Ian LaBounty and Chris LaBounty; 10 great-granchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Tuesday at 12:00 noon. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10am to 12pm. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau.
