Kimberly J. Harling, 60, of Nassau passed away at home December 31, 2012 surrounded by loving family and friends. Born in Valatie NY she was the daughter of the late James and Ada Harling. Kim had a degree in food service management and was employed by Berkshire Farm as the food service manager for 11 years. She especially enjoyed baking cookies and had a special "cookie book" of recipes. Kim had spent her last ten years working with the wonderful people at Ackermans Appliance in Hudson. She devoted her time as a fire fighter for 10 years at the North Chatham Fire Company and was a former Vice President. Kim's greatest joy was gardening, she was an avid gardener and would spend hours on her flowers and vegetables.
Kimberly is survived by her loving husband, Richard Reiner of Nassau, sons, Charles J. (Karolyn) Melino of Carmel ME and Jacob Reiner of Japan, sister, Sandra (Larry) Ellsworth of Valatie, grandson, Vincent C. Melino, as well as several nieces and cousins. She is also survived by many dear friends whom she held close to her heart.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Saturday January 5th from 10:00am to 12:00noon followed by a reception at Jackson's Old Chatham House. There will be no funeral service or interment at this time. In lieu of flowers contributions in Kimberly's memory may be made to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer, NY 12144 or to the Nassau Ambulance, PO Box 757 Nassau, NY 12123.
