Lynn Church

Nassau- Lynn M. (Phelps) Church, age 69, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Lynn was born in Albany to the late Elizabeth Hungerford and Edward J. Phelps III. She grew up in Nassau with her ten siblings, where they were a staple of the Village. Lynn worked for the American Dog Owner's Association, where she helped advocate for the rights of animals, particularly dogs. She enjoyed traveling to Maine and spending time on the beach with her family. Lynn could often be found going on long walks or sewing. She was a talented seamstress who could create just about anything. Lynn even made her own wedding gown.

Lynn was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Paul G. Phelps, Kenneth Phelps, and Pamela Hendricks.

Lynn is survived by her husband, Thomas Church; her children, Jennifer M. (Harrison) Rivers and Mark A. (Theresa) Church; her grandchildren, Hannah, Meghan, and Kallie Rivers, Emily and Alex Mooney, and Zachary Church; her siblings, Edward (Susan) Phelps, David (Sally) Phelps, Robert (Barbara) Phelps, Deborah Brehm, Mary (Mark Perrault) Bombard, Kristine (Robert) Morris, and Kimberly (Albert) Mancini; as well as her in laws, Sharren Phelps and William Hendricks. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lynn's family from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2024, at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY 12123.
