Mary Shirley Currier, died on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018 at the Eddy Village Green Nursing Home, Cohoes N.Y. Shirley was born in Worchester Ma. on December 29, 1921 to John and Josephine Coyle. She was employed by the East Greenbush Central School District for 36 years as transportation secretary and was a Communicant of St. Mary's Church in Nassau. Shirley had a heart of gold and touched so many lives. She was compassionate, generous, loyal and more than a little stubborn likely due to her rich Irish roots. Shirley is survived by her daughter Kathy A. (John) Farnan and grandchildren, Kathleen Pangburn (Michael Arel), Michael Currier (Stacey Primero), Ryan Farnan and Kimberly Farnan; four great grandchildren, Rachel Currier, Casey Currier, Jennifer Pangburn and Matthew Pangburn. She was predeceased by her husband Sylvester "Whitey" F. Currier, a son, Robert F. Currier, a sister Ruth Beverly Johnston and a brother John Edward Coyle. Beloved family members are Joanne Currier and Gerry Anne Currier. Caretakers of note during her infirmity were Kevin Smith, Glen Kirsch, Jacqui Perry, Melissa Smith, Lorraine and Joseph Drzymala and Sue Bradley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 7th, 10:00am at St. Mary's Church in Nassau. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home 11 Elm St. Nassau on Friday evening from 4-7pm. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau. Shirley's family thanks the staff at the Eddy Village Green Nursing Home who gave her a loving home.
