Mildred F. Adriance, 91, passed away at the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center in Troy on Feb. 10, 2016. Born in Buffalo, NY in 1924 to the late Hilmer and Margaret Fisher formerly of Voorheesville, NY and Tucson, Arizona. Mildred graduated from Hackett High, where she met her husband, the late J. William Adriance. They resided in Nassau for over 50 years. She was also a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College and Albany State University. Mildred was employed at BH Delson Department Store, Ichabod Crane Central School District as a bus driver and was an auditor for New York State Teachers Retirement System. Mildred loved the out of doors, participating in speed skating, hiking, canoeing and gardening. She was a member of the Adirondack Mountain Club and the Taconic Hiking Club. She was proud to be an Adirondack 46er, have hiked the Taconic Crest Trail "end to End" and to have canoed the Allagash River. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Patricia Mensing (Ronald) of Nassau and son, William Adriance (Terri) of Moreau. Grandchildren, Michael Mensing, Jeffrey Mensing, Jullie Delos (Mark) and 6 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank everyone at Eddy Memorial for their kindness and excellent care given to our "Milly". Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
