Paul A. Barber, 65, of Nassau passed away June 12, 2012 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Kenneth M. and Jeannette (Onderdonk) Barber and loving husband of the late Helen M. Barber. A lifelong area resident Mr. Barber owned Barber Enterprises, his own excavating business. He also worked for many other construction companies throughout his lifetime including Cranbrook Construction Inc. where he worked for his good friend Dan Crandall. His accomplishments include being the driving force behind the construction of Onderdonk Estates as well as working on the construction of I-90. Paul was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He served on the board of the Nassau Sportsmen Club and was also a lifetime member.
He is survived by his sons; Scott A. (Marnie) Barber of Averill Park and Kenneth P. (Amy) Barber of Nassau, sister, Rev. Mary Jane Barber of Boston MA, grandchildren, Shawn, Erynn, Melissa Sue, Valerie, Cameron, Paul, Matthew and Avery Barber. He is also survived by his aunt Gladys Bub of Troy.
Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Sunday June 17, 2012 at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service from 9:30am-11:30am. Interment in Greenbush Cemetery. Following the interment everyone is invited back to the Nassau Sportsmen Club for refreshments.
