East Schodack- On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Raymond G. "Ray" Morrill, passed over peacefully into eternal life with his beloved wife, Barbara, of 60 years and his two daughters, Dawn and Tami, by his side. Ray was born on October 5, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, where he grew up with fond memories with his 8 siblings. Ray served in the U.S. Army and spoke about his time in Alaska, where he was stationed. He married the love of his life and started a family on his own. They packed up in the early 70s making the move from the city to the country. They had their forever home built in East Schodack, NY. Ray was a talented meat cutter, working for A&P and Grand Union. He started his journey in that trade as a youngster delivering for a local butcher shop in Brooklyn. Ray was a life member of the Nassau Sportsman's Club and the Burden Lake Country Club. Ray truly enjoyed traveling and was always up for new adventures. He also enjoyed going to the casino and having luck at the slot machines. One of Ray's greatest joys was being "Poppy" to his grandchildren who he adored with all of his heart.

Ray was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Morrill; his sisters, Rita (John) Tiernan, Arlene (Teddy) Wren, and Doris Rael; his brother, Donald Morrill; and his beloved in laws, Jean and William Stachow.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, Ray is survived by his daughters, Dawn Morrill and Tami (Donnie) Nalley; his grandchildren, Chelsea (Sean) Finn, Tamara (Justin) Garcia, Cody Morrill, and Donnie (Rissa) Nalley; his great-grandchildren, Ava, Ella, Nash, and another great-grandchild expected in June of 2025. He is also survived by his siblings, Margaret Morrill, Robert (Rose) Morrill, William (Kathie) Morrill, and Joseph Morrill, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the Van Rensselaer Manor, especially Unit 3A and The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital for the compassionate, dedicated, and kind care they provided to him. We will always cherish the comfort you brought to our family.

At Ray's request, the family will be holding a private Funeral Mass.
