Ronald R. Stevens Sr., 76, of Nassau passed away on July 11, 2014 at his home. Born in Albany he was the husband of Edith Stevens and son of the late Rensselaer and Bernice (Livingston) Stevens. A graduate of Albany High School and a Veteran of the United States Army. He went on to become an Albany Firefighter from 1959 until his retirement in 1999. Ronald was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed Hunting, fishing, and boating. He was a life member of the Tri-Village Bowhunters in Nassau, the Nassau Sportsman Club, and the North American Hunting Club. Ronald loved to travel, visiting most of north America including Forida, Alaska and Canada.
He is survived by his loving wife Edith Stevens, son, Ronald R. Jr. (Deborah Ingerson) of Nassau, daughters, Tammy M. (Larry) Chesebro of Sprakers N.Y., Tina (John) Houck of Cohoes, and Teresa Stevens (Steve Paster) of Albany, sister, Beverly Bombard of New Port Richey FL, Ninteen Grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ronald was predeceased by his sisters Shirley Lancier and Lorraine Rivenburg and his dog Baby whom he cherished.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Monday July 14, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. The calling hours will conclude with a short prayer. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. The family would like to offer special thanks to Ronald's grandson, Christopher Aldous for his care during this difficult time.
