Rosemary Zimmerman, 83, of Nassau passed away on January 21st at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing home. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late John and Lillian (Walker) Paulus and husband of the late Edwin R. Zimmerman Sr. Prior to moving to Nassau in 1952 Rosemary graduated from the Academy of the Holy Names in Albany. She loved to cook for her family, was an avid reader and enjoyed vacationing in Cape Cod. Rosemary liked to spend time shopping and was always looking for a deal. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Nassau for many years.
Rosemary was predeceased by her son Edwin R. Zimmerman Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Rob) Granfors and Ellen Zimmerman, grandchildren; Edwin R. Zimmerman III, Gregory (Tabitha) Zimmerman, Brett Granfors and Bradley Granfors. She was also a great grandmother. The family would like to thank the staff on C3 at Van Rensselaer Manor for the care and compassion shown to Rosemary. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Church St. in Nassau on Monday Jan. 26th at 12:00 noon. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home 11 Elm St. Nassau prior to the Mass from 10:00-11:30am. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau. In Lieu of Flowers donations in Rosemary's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405 Albany, NY 12205 or to the activities unit at Van Rensselaer Manor 85 Bloomingrove Drive Troy, NY 12180.
