Stephen P. Zido, 88, of Morey Park Road died suddenly Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Memorial Hospital after being stricken at his home. Steve was born in the Bronx, graduated from Richmond Hill School, served in the Navy during WW11 as a signal man 3rd class aboard the USS Estes and saw action at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He retired from Western Electric and moved to the Nassau-Schodack area from Queens in 1986. He was a member of the East Schodack Garden Club and St. Mary's Church in Nassau.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Barque Zido, sons Stephen J. (Christina), Joseph J. (Mark), Thomas D. (Noreen) and David W. (Sandra) Zido, grandchildren Christine and Stephen Zido, a great granddaughter Graciana Zido and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm Street, Nassau Monday morning at 9:15 and 10:00 o'clock at St. Mary's Church, Nassau, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Sunday from 5:00-8:00 PM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Nassau.
