William Henry Peak Jr., age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2018, at home with his family. He was currently living in Nassau, but is formally from Winter Haven, FL and Argyle, NY. He served honorably in the US Marines, First Marine Division and was a decorated combat veteran in the Korean War. He had a 30 year distinguished career for the NYS Department of Transportation, and was recognized as Engineer of the Year in 1973, for his invention that measures the volume of a hole, which is still in use today. He was an avid and excellent golfer, loved sailing, swimming and gardening. He enjoyed flying and earned his pilot's license. He excelled in anything he put his mind to. He is survived by Mary Alice, his loving wife of 65 years; his 4 children: Brad Peak (Susan), Susan Scalisi (John), Karen Peak (Donna) and Nancy Gorman (Michael); 10 grandchildren: Joshua, Shane (Lisa), Devon (Robyn), Katie (Brian), Rebecca, Emily Peak, Sadie Wheeler (Aaron), Cara, Nigel (Guin), William; 5 great grandchildren: Nicholas, Heelena, Emmerie, Lana, Greta and 2 step; Grant and London.
