William Stenger

October 1, 1927 — April 30, 2014

William E. Stenger, 86, of Ballston Spa, formerly of Nassau passed away on April 30, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital.

He is predeceased by his wife, Alice (Pfister) Stenger of 62 years and daughter, Linda (Stenger) Ozga. He is survived by his daughter, Jean (Stenger) Weatherby, son-in law Bill Weatherby and Grandchildren, Dawn (Matt) Weatherby-Cavagnaro; Angela Weatherby; Lisa (Brian) Weatherby- Charbonneau, Mike (Jenny) Ozga; Brenda (Bob) Ozga-Film and 4 great grandchildren and son in law Mike Ozga. Although William Edward Stenger was born into that name, he lived under many an alias through the years. He was known as Bill, Dad, Gramps, Papa (to most everyone) and Willy Baby by his wife. He grew up on Long Island marrying his wife, Alice. When she became ill he selflessly moved to Nassau for her better health. Willy Baby served his country in WWII in Germany during the occupation and in the Korean War. He was a great truck driver for Gulf Oil for 32 years and made friends everywhere he went. His favorite past time was woodworking which he passed on to his son-in law Billy whom he loved like a son. Papa will always be known as being patient, happy, generous, and a great food connoisseur. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be offered at Mooneyfuneralhome.com
