
Obituary of Carolyn Agan
Nassau- Carolyn Agan, 81, of Nassau entered into eternal life on Friday, October 20, 2023 after a two-month illness. Born on April 29, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Jesie Seaburg Crandall. Carolyn was raised in Grafton, NY and graduated from Berlin Central High School. She was a home health aide for the Eddy Visiting Nurses for over 25 years, working throughout the Capital District helping to care for patients in their homes. She switched to working part time in 2000, when her beloved granddaughter Katie was born to help care for her and continued helping patients for many years. Carolyn lived in a senior living complex in Nassau and enjoyed her time with her neighbors and attended activities at the Schodack Senior Center. She loved gardening, animals, reading, playing cards, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles and above all spending time with her family.
Survivors include her four children; Robert (Sue) Agan of Troy, Kevin (Anna Peace) Agan of Nassau, Brian Agan of Troy, and Cynthia Agan of Oakland, California. She was the proud grandmother of Brandon Williams of Lansingburgh, Heather Williams and Katie Agan both of Troy and the great grandmother of Mason, Aubree, Jameson, Brooke & Samson. Carolyn is also survived by her brothers; Dale Crandall of Fort Myers, Florida and Wayne (Kathy) Crandall of Naples, Florida, and her sister ;Joyce Houser of Newport News, Virginia, her sister in law and dear friend; Lee Slater of Nassau, her ex-husband and the father of her children; Richard Agan of San Diego, California, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother; Richard Elliot, brother in law; Harry Houser, sisters in law; Karen Crandall and Margaret Crandall and her longtime companion; Tino Faginas.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 12 at 4:00 pm at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm Street in Nassau, NY, with Rev. Robert Peters officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Carolyn's family prior to the memorial service, from 3:00-4:00 pm, at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in Grafton Center Cemetery, at a later date. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for saving her life back in August, giving us a few more months with her and to the staff at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Center and Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
