Edward Schaus, 85, of West Lebanon, formerly a longtime resident of Nassau, passed away Sunday May 13, 2012. Edward was a WWII Navy Veteran and was commissioned on the USS Midway.

Born in Wychoff, NJ, April 5, 1927 he was the son of the late Willis and Aurelia Schaus. He survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lizzetta Mary Apgar Schaus. He owned and operated Schaus Lumber in Nassau, NY before he retired. Mr. Schaus was an active member of the Nassau American Legion Post 1268 for many years.

Edward was the beloved father of his devoted daughter Louise Clouser and husband Jerry Clouser of West Lebanon and son, Delmar Schaus, Sr. of Cohoes, NY. He has 5 loving grandchildren, Kristine Moxon of Nassau, Delmar Schaus, Jr. and Elizabeth Schaus of Cohoes, Keith Clouser of Canaan, CT and Marc Clouser of Fort Johnson, NY and 16 great grandchildren.

Edward was also survived by his 2 brothers, John Schaus, of NJ, and James Schaus of Texas and a sister, Margaret Hall of Rensselaer, NY.

Edward was a loving and devoted man to his family and friends and will be very greatly missed. We love you dad.

Funeral service from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau on Wednesday May 16, 2012 at 12:00noon. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10:00am to 12:00. Interment, Nassau Cemetery.
