Mary Ann Wood Nassau Mary A. Wood, 59 of Nassau passed away suddenly July 15, 2012 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital after years of battling cancer. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late Walter and Evelyn (Secor) Latham. A longtime resident of Nassau, Mary was very involved with the community. She liked to volunteer her time at local food pantries and was a member of the Nassau American Legion Post 1268 Ladies Auxiliary. Mary loved to gamble and to find bargains at garage sales and boutiques. The most important thing to her was her family. She loved to spend time with her family and especially loved her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters; Ann M. (Chuck) Witherell of Nassau and Jennifer Leggett of Nassau, sisters, Gail Dedie, Rose O'Rouke, and Bonnie Passino all of the Columbia County area, grandchildren, Christopher, Karissa, C.J., and Matthew. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many loving friends. Mary is predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Latham and her sister Sandy Scrum. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 18 at 7:00pm at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau. Relatives and friends are invited to call prior to the service from 5:00 - 7:00pm. There will be no interment at this time.
