Lois E. Curtiss, 86, passed away peacefully October 11, 2012. She was born in Great Barrington, Mass on August 29, 1926 to the late Mabel and Franklin Andrus. She was also predeceased by her husband Harold Curtiss and a son Sidney (Kimberly) Curtiss.

Lois is survived by her brother Thomas (Patricia) Andrus of Massachusetts and sister Ruth Andrus of New Hampshire. Loving mother to six children, Joan (Leonard) Newcomer of Warren Ohio, Harold Jr. of New Lebanon, James (Debbie) of Springhill, Fl, Margery, of Castleton, and William (Dolores) of San Jacinto, Ca. She was a loving grandmother to 10 and great grandmother to 25. She also has numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois is a graduate of Searles High School in Gt. Barrington, Mass. She worked at W.T. Grant's and McCellans Store both in Gt. Barrington. She was also a bookkeeper at Home Gas Corporation in Housatonic, Mass. prior to becoming a devoted wife and homemaker.

Lois enjoyed spending time with her family, playing scrabble and board games, reading and watching western movies; her all time favorite was John Wayne.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home 11 Elm St. Nassau, Monday October 15, 2012 from 4 - 7 pm. Funeral service from the Mooney Funeral Home at 12:00 noon on Tuesday October 16, 2012, Interment will be in Nassau Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Albany Medical Center and Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for all their care and support. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to The American Diabetes Association, 2 Pine West Plaza, Suite 204 Albany, NY 12205.
