James Joseph Buel, 65, of Nassau died Thursday December 27, 2012 at Home of COPD.

Mr. Buel was born on June 16, 1947 in Troy to Catherine M. and James W. Buel who predeceased him.

James retired from OMRDD in 2008 after 32 years. He continued to be a passionate NY Giants fan in victory and defeat. His innate compassion was exhibited through his love of pets. There was nothing more important to Jim than his family. He is survived by his wife Shirley, children, Cheryl and Jeff Clark and James W. Buel, sisters, Cheryl "Cookie" (Larry) Saulpaugh and Sheila Buel, mother-in-law Helen Dunkle. He is also survived by many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home 11 Elm St. Nassau, Monday December 31, at 9:15 then St. Mary's Church at 10:00 where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00pm. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery Nassau.
