Francis J. Cellery Nassau Nassau-Cellery, Francis (Frank) Jerome went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 10 after a brief hospital stay. Frank was the son of the late Anthony and Agnes (Van Order) Cellery. Frank was born on June 18, 1942 and lived his entire life in Nassau and was proud of his community. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1993 after 30 years of service. He also worked for Nassau Country Value for several years. Frank was a member of the Nassau Hose Company for over 50 years and served as Chief, Deputy Chief and Assistant Chief, as well as other positions over the years. He was currently a Fire Commissioner. Frank was also a member of the Nassau Ambulance since he was 16. He served as an EMT, was instrumental in the development and design of the new Ambulance Station and served as the first President after it's separation from the Fire Department. He was currently on their Board of Directors. Frank was a social member of the North Chatham Fire Company. He also served as a member of the Rensselaer County Radio Committee, Fire & EMS Committee and the R.E.S.T. (bereavement) Team. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Nassau and a former member of the Holy Name Society. Frank was a member of the Planning Board for the Village of Nassau and was a member of the Nassau Republican Club, presently servings as Republican Committeeman. He was also a member of the Nassau Sportsman Club. In the past Frank served as a Boy Scout leader and a Neighborhood Chairman. He was on the Bi-Centennial Committee for the Town of Nassau. Frank truly lived a life of service to his community. Frank was the husband of 49 years (February 8, 1964) to Maureen (Fitzgibbons) Cellery. He was the father of Colleen (Kenneth) Kirsch of Castleton, Sean Cellery and Brendan Cellery (Jillena Strevell, Fiance) of Nassau. He was the devoted grandpa to his granddaughters, Aubrey Katherine Kirsch, Hunter Catherine Cellery and soon to be step-granddaughter, Shyann Helene Goldup. He was predeceased by a son, Timothy Francis Cellery and sister, Rosemary Ertel. Additional survivors include: brother-in-law to Patricia (Robert G.) Yager, uncle to Robert T. (Faith) Yager and Godfather and uncle to Heather (Jason) Brennan, great-uncle to Robert Timothy Yager Jr., Peyton Marian Yager and Stone Parker Brennan. Hi is also survived by his uncle and aunt LeRoy (Toni) Van Order and several cousins. The family will receive family and friends at St. Mary's Church, Church St. (Rt. 20) in Nassau N.Y. on Friday June 14, from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 15, 11:00am at St. Mary's Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Nassau.
