Michael Romeling

East Nassau-Michael J. Romeling, 65, died suddenly Wednesday May 15, 2013 at his Hayes Rd residence. Born in Burlington, VT moving to East Nassau in 1977 he was the son of the late Waldemar and Lisel Winbauer Romeling and the husband of Elizabeth Dean Romeling.



Michael worked as a supervisor for the NYS Dept. of Education in the Talking Book and Braille Library until his retirement 3 years ago. Michael was a published author, musician, guitar player, singer and songwriter. Michael enjoyed downhill and cross-country skiing and was a member of the Old Chatham Tennis Club.



In Addition to his wife Elizabeth, Michael is survived by: a son, Matthew E. Romeling of Brighton, MA, a daughter, Shannon E. Romeling of Taos, NM and a sister Crystal Romeling of Ballston Spa.



Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home 11 Elm Street Nassau NY on Saturday May 18, 11:30am-1:30pm.

A Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 1:30pm.



Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
