Florence Lewis

Florence S. Lewis, 89, of East Nassau died November 4th at Albany Medical Center. Florence was born in Pittsfield MA to the late William A. and Lillian J. (Coverdale) Williams. She had lived in East Nassau since 1962 and worked at the New Karner Road Post Office until retiring in 1989. She was very involved in the East Nassau Baptist Church and was former treasurer. Florence was a quiet person who loved knitting and cooking and especially loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Florence was predeceased by her husband John Lewis Sr. as well as two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her; son, John (Jody) Lewis Jr. of E. Nassau, grandchildren; Lindsay Anne (Rick) Walford of Foxborough MA and Jaime Michelle Lewis of Providence RI, great-grandchildren; Eric and Logan. She is also survived by several nieces.

Funeral service will be held at the East Nassau Baptist Church Rt. 66 East Nassau Monday at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home 11 Elm St. Nassau, Sunday from 3-6 PM. Interment will be at the East Nassau Cemetery.
