Guido Giaquinto

March 15, 1921 — February 18, 2015

Guido "Chic" Giaquinto, 93, of Rensselaer left this world on Feb. 18th 2015 to be held in the loving arms of his wife Ann who predeceased him in 2009. Born in the Bronx to Eugene and Elizabeth (Fuschini) Giaquinto, Chic was an Army Veteran who served during WWII. Mr. Giaquinto moved to Rensselaer in 1956 where he raised his family and lived out the remainder of his life. Chic worked for Firestone for 28 years before his retirement in 1984. He then worked for the LaSalle School in Albany for ten years. Chic was an honorary lifetime member of the Rensselaer Knights of Columbus #267. He loved to bowl, was an avid golfer and liked to play cards with his Knights of Columbus buddies. Chic was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife Ann (Lioi) Giaquinto he was predeceased by his siblings; Alphonse, Frank, Thomas, William and Linda. He is survived by his son Thomas (Rosemary) Giaquinto of Rensselaer, daughter Barbara (Anthony) DeSiena of Charlton, brother, Albert Giaquinto of the Bronx, grandchildren, Thomas (Rainbow) Giaquinto, Angela (Brian) Corey, Gina (Jeff) Fusco, and Dr. Kathleen (Dr. Michael) Bybel, great grandchildren, Gabriel, Ireland Rose, Dominic, Rocco, Lilianna, Mia, Michael, and Christopher as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services have been entrusted to the care of Thomas P. Mooney and will be held at the William J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Ave. Rensselaer on Monday Feb. 23 at 1:30pm. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service from 11:00am to 1:30pm. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
